MEMBERS OF the Bharatiya Janata Party women’s cell took out a procession and staged a dharna at the district magistrate’s office to vent their anger over the shortage of cooking gas cylinders and unrestricted increase in prices of essential commodities.

They handed over a memorandum to the city magistrate to be forwarded to the Governor and demanded that the Governor should recommend dismissal of Samajwadi Party-led State government.
Presiding over the dharna, city unit president of the BJP’s women’s cell cell, Dr Satya Pandey said that the State government had become insensitive to the grievances of the common people. She said instead of controlling the prices of essential commodities, the government was trying to divert the attention of people from basic issues.
She said farmers were committing suicide, law and order situation was at its worst and a sense of insecurity was prevailing among the people.
Therefore, the State government had no moral right to continue in power, Dr Satya Pandey added.
