She had screamed rape. It now turns out the allegation was false. The forensic report in the alleged gangrape of a 42-year-old woman does not support the first information report (FIR).
Forensic tests have returned negative.
The complainant, a Malad resident, had gone to Bandra-Kurla Complex police station on August 20, alleging that four businessmen had raped her in a Chevrolet Tavera near Asian Heart Institute. The victim supplied tiffins to the office of the four accused. She had told the police that she accompanied them on a tour to Bhuj in Gujarat a year ago.
Her clothes, vaginal swabs and the car in which the alleged rape took place were then sent for forensic tests, reports of which were submitted to the Crime Branch on Tuesday.
“No traces of semen from which we could extract DNA, were found on the swabs,” a forensic official said on condition of anonymity. “In earlier tests too, no traces of semen or blood were found on the victim’s clothes or in the car.”
The test result was confirmed by MV Garad, director of Directorate of Forensic Science Laboratory, Kalina. “Results of all tests are negative,” he told Hindustan Times.

{{/usCountry}}The victim’s torn clothes have been sent for tests to ascertain if the fabric was shredded using some equipment (like a pair of scissors).
A case of rape, assault and criminal intimidation was registered against the businessmen. It was later transferred to the Crime Branch.
“We are investigating,” said Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Rakesh Maria.
