Gelatine sticks were used in the device that had been kept under back row of seats in the bus, which was stationary at the terminus at the time of the blast, Peter Lobo, ATS inspector told PTI on Tuesday.

While minor damage was done to the bus structure, none of the half a dozen passengers who were seated in the front rows, was injured in the blast, he said.

After the blast, a 12ft wire that was connected with the gelatine sticks inside was noticed hanging out of the back window of the bus.

"We are carrying on parallel investigation with police to know whether the act was a mischief to create panic by local culprits or was handiwork of other suspected elements," the ATS officer added.
