When construction workers went to fetch a bag of sand to prepare a concrete mix at the tabela (cowshed) they were repairing, at Lele Wadi in Andheri (east) on Sunday morning, they came back screaming “Dead body, dead body”.
On reaching the spot, tabela owner Ramnivas Yadav found a half-clad body in the sand.
The Sahar police were informed and the body removed. But its identity and how it reached there remains a mystery.
Yadav had got the sand from New Rubu Sand Depot at Reti Bunder in Sewri, Police Sub Inspector S Mule told Hindustan Times. The dumper (which is in the possession of the police) carrying the sand reached Lele Wadi around 1 am and the sand was off loaded at 5.30 am, the police said.
The body was discovered at 11.30 am by four workers. Mule said the deceased was between 35 and 40 years of age, of wheatish complexion and 5 feet, 5 inches tall. “He could have been a migrant worker doing some manual work,” Mule said. Interestingly, no injury mark was found on the body, according to the police.

In these circumstances, it is difficult to keep the body in the trolley as the place is brightly illuminated at night,” Mule said.

{{/usCountry}}Questioning the staff at Reti Bunder, the driver and helpers of the dumper and the tabela owner has not revealed any details so far. The body has been sent for post mortem.
