A decomposed body of an unidentified youth was found hanging in a room on the premises of Maduadih railway station in Varanasi, police said on Saturday.

The body was found in a decomposed state on Friday by the Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel, after they opened the room, which is located in a deserted place.

Locals had complained of stench emanating from the room, the police said, adding that the youth might have died at least a week ago.

Police suspect that he might have been killed and hanged there. The body has been sent for post-mortem, the cops said.
