A village defence committee member was killed by terrorists in Doda district, official sources said in Jammu on Thursday.
VDC member Nek Chand had gone to nearby village on July 11 and did not returned back to his Dhari village in Bhaderwah tehsil of Doda district till on Wednesday night, the sources said.
His body was recovered from nearby Dhuja forests bearing torture marks, they said.
Following the recovery of the body, people resorted to protest demonstrations against militants and observed a shutdown in the area on Thursday.
