The body of a sub-inspector was found in a ditch beside the Durgapur Expressway running beside the Tata Motors factory in Singur on Thursday.
The SI, Bidhan Chandra Patra, posted at the Enforcement Branch at Bhabani Bhawan in Kolkata had arrived in Singur on Wednesday, for duty, SDPO, Chandanagore, Amitava Maity said.

Meanwhile, Superintendent of Police, Hooghly, Rajiv Mishra said there were numerous complaints against Patra and the case is being investigated.
