Bomb hoax at NSC Bose airport in Kolkata

An alert was sounded and security beefed up at the NSC Bose International Airport after a bomb hoax call.

An alert was sounded and security beefed up at the NSC Bose International Airport in Kolkata on Tuesday after an anonymous caller rang up to say an Indian plane would be blown up after midnight, airport sources said.

The sources said the caller rang up at around 8 pm and said an Indian (formerly Indian Airlines) plane, which would leave the airport after midnight, would be blown up.

Sniffer dogs have been pressed into service and all passengers frisked thoroughly.

The bomb disposal squad is also searching the airport premises, sources said adding all security agencies in the airport have been alerted.
