Bomb hoax call kept Cops on their toes

A call informing that a bomb is planted at a factory situated at Ladowali Road kept the cops on their toes, as after thorough search of the premises, the call was declared as "hoax".

A call on Monday informing that a bomb is planted at a factory situated at Ladowali Road kept the cops on their toes, as after thorough search of the premises, the call was declared as "hoax".

A call was received by Brajesh Gupta, Director of Vinko Auto Industries Limited and it was conveyed by the caller that a bomb is planted in the factory premises, which would be exploded sources said adding that accordingly the police was informed.

Senior Police Officials including Superintendent of Police (SP), G S Toor also rushed to the spot and made a call to the same number and the man picked up the phone again repeated the theory of planted bomb, sources said accordingly whole factory premises was immediately evacuated and thorough search was conducted and ultimately the call was declared as "hoax" by the police.

During investigation it came to light that call was made from Machiwara area near Ludhiana and efforts were on to identify the caller, Toor said adding that very soon the caller would be arrested.

Meanwhile, the police asked the factory management to provide it the list of those employees, who were recently left and retrenched from the factory, sources added.
