Bomb scare in Lucknow hospital

A low intensity bomb was diffused from the premises of the district Mahila hospital in Sitapur district, police said on Friday.

A low intensity bomb was diffused from the premises of the district Mahila hospital in Sitapur district, police said on Friday.

The police said that the watchman first spotted the bomb wrapped in a paper and informed them.

A thorough search was also carried out in the hospital as a precautionary measure, they added.

The Anti-terror squad (ATS) team which was rushed from Lucknow on Thursday found it to be a low intensity bomb. It is assembled with gun powder which is used in making crackers.

Police said that it appears to be the work of some mischief makers who wanted to create panic.
