Kuber Singh, a grade XII student of International Baccalaureate stream at GD Goenka World School in Gurgaon, hopes he would get a chance to talk to US president-elect Barack Obama.
He is the only student from India who has got an invite to attend the Presidential Youth Inaugural Conference (PYIC) organised by Congressional Youth Leadership Council (CYLC). The event would take place on January 20.
He would be among the lucky few who would be heading to US to be face to face with President Obama and other dignitaries including the Vice-President.
The Congressional council is an independent educational organisation with over 50 embassies and 369 members of the US Senate and House of Representatives in its honourary, bipartisan advisory board.
Till recently the low-key Kuber and his parents had hid the invitation to avoid public attention but now everyone at his schools knows about it. The family had received the invitation in early August.
“This is a great honour for my son as well as for the school. I wanted my son to keep a level head because it could have affected his studies. So we kept the news a secret,” said the beaming father, G.B. Singh, a resident of DLF City.

{{/usCountry}}When asked what he would ask the US President if he gets to meet him, Kuber said he would covey the concern of every India regarding terrorism and would seek US support in eliminating terrorism not only from India but from the world.
