A brief spell of rain brought relief on the faces of farmers and locals in Varanasi on Tuesday. However, the downpour created problems for vehicular traffic.

Though the city had experienced less rain fall during the past two weeks but a moderate rain brought smiles over the faces of residents today. It also gave respite to the farmers as the standing crops of paddy were not getting adequate rain for last several days.
But the short spell of rain also caused water-logging on the low lying roads in Jagatganj, Gurubag, Ravindrapuri by-pass city areas.
The vehicular traffic faced lot of problems due to water-logging on these roads.
Some dilapidated roads like Lahuraveer-Godowlia, Godawlia-Assi and Lanka Samneghat had become muddy and slippery, posing serious accident threat to commuters.
