Britain is expected to announce contribution of 130 million dollars to UNICEF for their Strategic Fund for India to help vulnerable children over a five-year period.

British Under Secretary of State for Department of International Development (DFID) Gareth Thomas is slated to exchange letters of intent with the UNICEF at a ceremony in New York on Monday.

The programme will help accelerate progress towards child-related Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) in India, with a particular focus on the poorest states and socially excluded groups.
