Two brothers on Wednesday killed a man who allegedly raped their mother in front of their father in Shivpuri district, 300 km north of Bhopal.
This is one of the three cases of rape and rape attempts—one near Indore and two in Shivpuri —reported in MP this week and they have come to light just seven days after the Betma gang rape case.
The woman, 50, was allegedly raped by a man called Pajan Singh Baba (also 50) on Tuesday. On Wednesday, she narrated the incident to her sons, who killed Baba with sharp-edged weapons. The police have nabbed the sons. The police said Baba was an aide of Hazrat Rawat, a notorious dacoit of the region.
In another incident in Shivpuri district on Thursday, a 22-year-old youth by the name Vinod Rai allegedly attempted to rape two girl children, sisters and below 10. The two were playing near their residence when Rai called them to a place, promising them toffees, and attempted to rape them. He, however, fled the spot when he saw their mother.
Subsequently, he was caught on the outskirts of the village. The police have arrested him.
A differently-abled woman, 36, was raped several times between February 8 and 18 allegedly by three persons at a place 40 km south of Indore. Police have lodged a case against the three, who are on the run.
