Unknown bike-borne assailants shot dead BSP candidate from Atrauli assembly constituency for the 2017 elections, in Barahdwari market under Bannadevi
police station, in Aligarh late Saturday night.

Dharmendra Chaudhry, the BSP leader was going towards Barahdwari passing from Rasalganj after attending ameeting of Builders' Association when he was attacked.

BSP chief Mayawati had only a month back declared Chaudhry as BSP candidate from
Atrauli.
Pankaj Pande, SP ( City ) told HT that "two unidentified bike-borne assailants shot the BSP leader. He died on spot as the assailants fled."
He said Chaudhry was also partner in Global Builders. Police suspect that internal politics of the Builders' Association could be behind Chaudhry's murder.
