The nomination of the daughter of a sitting BSP MLA for panchayat elections was disqualified for being underage, officials said Wednesday.

Election officer and Additional District Magistrate, Satish Chand on october 5 rejected the nomination of Juhi Sharma, daughter of Anil Sharma, a two-time winning MLA from Khurja assembly segment, on the pretext of being underage, they said.

Juhi's nomination for membership of Zila Panchayat was found invalid after she was found 10 months underage against the prescribed age limit of 21 years.

The action was taken after the issue was raised by Raj Kumar Giri of Rashtriya Lok Dal and Ex-Chairman of Zila Panchayat.
