West Bengal CID is looking for a Bangladeshi national called Kasaur, an operative of Bangla terror group Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen, who took delivery of an IED consignment from Khagragor on October 1, a day before the blast.
“He is crucial to the investigation as he has wide information about the group in India. Railway police and BSF have been alerted in this regard,” said a CID officer, requesting anonymity.
The presence of this youth in the plot confirms Bangladeshi terror links with the incident and provides the sleuths with a challenge as Kasaur could have escaped to Bangladesh.
According to CID officers, Kasaur not only took delivery of the IEDs, but also knew the end use of these devices and the network of which the Khagragor terror factory was only a small part.
The confirmed presence of Bangladeshis in the plot is also politically important as none other than Prime Minister Narendra Modi raised the role of infiltrators from Bangladesh forcefully while campaigning in Bengal for the Lok Sabha polls. He triggered sharp criticisms from chief minister Mamata Bannerjee who threatened to drag him to prison.

CID had another success on Monday as Runi Bibi, the widow of Shakil Ahmed began to cooperate in the investigation. The information on Kasaur was obtained from Runi Bibi and Adbul Hakim who is lying injured in Burdwan Medical College and Hospital amid tight security.
CID also found out that Kasaur was instrumental in bringing Shakil Ahmed from Bangladesh to Karimpur.
