Bus overturns in Berasia, one dead, two dozen hurt

According to police, the bus carrying passengers was on its way from Bhopal to Lateri (Vidisha) when one of the front tyres burst. As the bus was being driven very fast, the driver could not control the vehicle and it overturned. The incident occurred at around 8 pm in Berasia, around 45 km from the State capital.

Almost 25 people were injured in the mishap. Mangilal Vishwakarma, a native of Anandpur near Vidisha, succumbed to the injuries. The police officials and the force from Berasia police station were rushed to the spot. The vehicle had turned turtle and was damaged.

The rest of the injured were admitted to the local hospital. Eight of the injured including three critically injured were rushed to Hamidia Hospital. The names of the injured persons could not be ascertained till the filing of this report. The police have registered a case and are looking into the matter.
