Cabinet meeting postponed to tomorrow

With the ruling UPA engaged in hectic consultations over the presidential elections, a meeting of the Union Cabinet scheduled for Thursday has been postponed to Friday.

With the ruling UPA engaged in hectic consultations over the presidential elections, a meeting of the Union Cabinet scheduled for Thursday has been postponed to Friday.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress President Sonia Gandhi are actively involved in talks with allies and supporting parties on the selection of UPA nominee for the top post.

DMK chief and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi had held talks with the Prime Minister and Gandhi on Wednesday night. He will be meeting CPI-M general secretary Prakash Karat and also hold talks with Gandhi again on Thursday.
