The airline had charge-sheeted the crew for reporting seven hours late leaving passengers stranded for about 16 hours. On Thursday, the association, representing more than 2,000 flight attendants, blamed poor assistance and bad planning by the management for the delay. It has termed the charge sheet void.

The association’s statement to airline chairman Arvind Jadhav stated that the crew had little assistance after landing at Cairo. “Most of them had run out of money because they were stuck at Frankfurt for five to six days,” said Sanjay Lazar, general secretary of the association.

The crew was flown in from Frankfurt to operate a flight to Delhi. But a few hours after reaching Cairo the airline asked them to report at the airport for a Toronto-bound flight.
