Taking to the mediapersons here on Sunday, Dr Pandey said Congress workers could not strengthen the party’s base in UP by humming the names of Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Vadera alone.

Referring to Rahul’s speech at the AICC convention in Hyderabad, Dr Pandey said Congress workers would focus on his message of reaching the masses to regain faith in the party in UP.

He said the UPCC chief had promised to reconstitute 60 per cent local bodies in different districts, but even after one month of the constitution of the AICC and the PCC, no such efforts had been made in this regard.

Lashing out at the SP-led State Government, Dr Pandey alleged that CM Mulayam Singh Yadav was working as a puppet of corporate houses. He asked him to clarify how much money and land had been sanctioned to corporate houses and for what purposes during his tenure. He criticised State minister Yaqoob Qureshi for announcing Rs 51 crore for the head of Danish cartoonist for making cartoons of Prophet Mohammad.
