Hey! What's up? Just chilling. Met this guy while hanging out with friends, think I have a crush on him!…What? Is he seeing someone? Oh but, are you sure he's going out? He must be nuts!…Hey, I gotto go, my mom's gonna screw me! Catch ya later!"
Try analysing this conversation that is heard in almost every teenage room in Indian homes nowadays from the perspective of an aged man, educated in the colonial period. Young people like you and me try to bend and blend words as we like them. What we never think is what the word means, once we've subconsciously created it.

The answer lies simply in the buzzwords for college-fun, frolic and independence. Every tension is shooed off with that pill called "chill". The word "friend" becomes "pals". I hope you got the picture. The motto here is: " I'll decide what I do with my life."
