THE SELF-FINANCING private institute – Career College – of Bhopal has bagged the `A’ grade of the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) during the recently held grading meeting of the council.
The college is only one among the recent lot of 24 colleges in the state to get A grade and the only multi-faculty private college in the country to get this grade during the recent grading process. The inspection of the college was held in the first week of December by a three-member NAAC team headed by vice-chancellor of Udaipur University Prof B L Choudhary.
Three more colleges of Bhopal — the Government Sarojini Naidu Girls PG Autonomous College, the Bhopal School of Social Sciences and the Institute of Excellence in Higher Education have got A grade of the NAAC yet.
During the recently held meeting, a total of 125 colleges in the country including 25 in MP were graded and Career College was given grade A on the basis of faculty members, teachers-parents relation, students’ feedback, evaluation of students by teachers, computerised personality development assessment, remedial coaching for weak students, two mock exams per year, career guidance and campus placement with multinational companies apart from infrastructure.
Among the other 23 colleges of the state, one college got B++ grade, seven colleges got B+, three – C++, two – C+ and one C grade. The two other colleges of Bhopal that were graded are the Government BHEL College (B+ grade) and the Government Vivekananda College, Berasia (C+ grade).
