An ordinary scale and a drilling machine are all what they need to steal your car parked at your, yes, doorstep.

Nayyar, a student at IIMT in Gurgaon, had parked his car outside a friend's house in South Extension II when thieves tried to flee with his Maruti Zen.

Nayyar arrived at the house of his friend Anash Bhatia in C Block around 11.30 p.m.

After 10 minutes, however, he returned to his car to pick up a pack of cigarette he had left inside it. "I opened the car door and this is what I saw: three people sitting in my car. I first thought I had opened a wrong car, so I said 'sorry' and closed the door," said Nayyar.

As Nayyar backed off, the third person sitting in the rear got out of the car and ran towards a Tata Indigo car parked nearby.

Nayyar told the police the engine of the Indigo was on. The three thieves sped away in it before anybody could catch them.
