Krishna Sen, the student’s mother, told Hindustan Times, “When I returned from office in the evening, I found my daughter wreathing in pain. She was running high fever. She told me she does not want to go to school anymore as she was beaten up by her teacher when she was caught talking in the class.”

School principal Bula Chakravarti, however, denied the allegations. “The mother is not mentally stable. She herself beats up the girl and then blames the teachers. This was the third incident reported by her. Few months ago, she came to me and alleged beating by another teacher and later apologised.”
