The complaint was lodged at the Chandmari police station in Guwahati.

Bhuyan quit as editor-in-chief of NewsLive on Tuesday following allegations that the televised molestation of a girl outside a pub in Guwahati on the night of July 9 was staged.

Summoned by the police, Bhuyan was questioned for a few hours and his mobile phones were checked before he was allowed to go.

Bhuyan later said he would lodge a counter-FIR against the two women for maligning him.

"I am being made a victim of a conspiracy," he said, adding his life was under threat.
