The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday produced an independent witness named Lakshman Singh in the Aarushi-Hemraj murder case after Dr Rajesh Talwar's driver Umesh Sharma turned hostile during a previous hearing.
The driver had failed to identify two golf sticks before the court.
Singh told the court that he was told to reach the CBI office on August 2, 2010. There he met investigating officer AGL Kaul with 3-4 other people present at the CBI office. Later, Kaul introduced him to Umesh Sharma and then produced a bag.
"From that bag, Umesh took out two sticks and told Kaul that these were kept inside the room of Dr Rajesh Talwar's servant. The golf sticks were number 4 and 5 and the documentation was prepared then and there. The document was then read out in Hindi to me and Umesh Sharma," Singh told the court.
The identification document was then signed by Umesh Sharma, Laxman Singh and several others from the CBI, he said.
The golf stick theory is important as the CBI, in their closure report, has said the dimensions of striking surface of golf club number 5, seized from Dr Rajesh Talwar, is identical to the dimensions of injury found on both the victims.

{{/usCountry}}During September 14 hearing, Sharma was declared hostile on request of the CBI when he declined to identify Golf stick number 4 and 5 and said that he cannot tell whether number 4 and 5 were kept inside the servant-room.
Sharma had also declined that the matter of identification document was explained to him in Hindi. He further alleged that he was slapped by Kaul at the CBI office at Lodhi Road which ruptured his ear drum.
"Since the day Kaul sahib had hit me, I am afraid of CBI people. I had signed the identification documents out of fear," Sharma said during a previous hearing.
