"The filing of the chargesheet against a political adversary on the eve of Union Government facing a trial of strength in Lok Sabha exposes CBI's selective morality and tarnishes its credibility," Narayan, a civil servant turned politician, said in a statement in Hyderabad on Thursday.
Alleging motives of the Central government behind the act, he demanded that the investigative agencies be made totally independent so that they could be insulated from the whims and fancies of politicians in power.
Dr Narayan said special courts be constituted to try cases against corrupt politicians and officials and independent prosecutors chosen by the judiciary be appointed for the purpose.
