The Central Bureau of Investigation maintained the heat on the Kadapa MP on Monday, seeking the CBI special court's permission to conduct a narco-analysis test on him.

The agency stated Jagan did not cooperate during seven days of questioning and gave unrelated replies. The court posted the hearing to June 14.

The court handed over copies of the second and third chargesheets in the case to Jagan and seven other accused. Barring Jagan, the others were released on personal bond.

Jagan's mother, YS Vijayalakshmi, who met him on the court premises, accused

the CBI of keeping him away from voters ahead of the by-elections under a political conspiracy. She urged Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to direct the CBI to "follow the rule book".

Jagan, 39, said he would fast in jail if those who had insulted him did not face action. Later, he was taken back to jail in a bullet-proof vehicle.
