CCI, Khanuja and Friends Club register victories

CRICKET CLUB of Indore (CCI), Friends Club and Khanuja Club won their respective matches in the Indore Bank ‘A’ grade cricket tournament organised by Indore Divisional Cricket Association at Yeshwant Club, ITI and Khalsa grounds respectively.
The first match was played between Yeshwant Club and CCI. Keerti Kapoor bowled brilliantly to bundle out Yeshwant Club for 70 runs in 17.1 overs. He took 6 wickets for 45 runs, while he got good support from Juned Khan who took 4/24. Both the bowlers helped in skittling YC cheaply.
Chasing a low target of 71, overconfident CCI batsmen had to go on the backfoot as they lost their top six batsmen before surpassing small total of 71.
Medium pacers Santhosh Nair and Prem Patel dismissed all the six batsmen. Playing after long gap Prem Patel showed his old nip to grab two wickets for 24, while Nair took three wickets for 27. Rohan Shrivatsav batted well to score 38 runs and helped his team win the match by four wickets.
The second match was played between Friends Club and Lucky Sports. Friends Club defeated Lucky Sports in another low scoring match. Batting first Friends Club managed to score 151 in 47.2 overs. Amit Parkhe and Rupesh Jadon scored 41 and 37 runs respectively.
Vishal Sirsiya bowled brilliantly to grab 5/20, while Lakhan Patel took 3/36. In reply, Lucky Sports batsmen failed to stay at the wicket and were losing wickets at regular intervals. Ajay Katare scored 33 runs and Jitendra Rasne made 26. Vishal and Vishal Sirsiya contributed 23 runs each.
Lucky Sports lost all the wickets for 141 runs in 25.1 overs. Shailendra Singh, Rupesh Jadon and Amit Parkhe took two wickets each to help their team win the match by 10 runs.
Shadab Khan’s all-round performance helped Khanuja Cricket Club defeat Star Club by 48 runs in the third match. Batting first Khanuja Club scored 226 in 45.5 overs. Shadab Khan batted brilliantly to score 86 with 13 boundaries, while Ankit Dane gave good support to score a brisk 63 with seven boundaries. Ram Singh scored 22. Suhail Hassan, Shafiq-ul-Hassan and Ajay Patidar took two wickets each.
In reply, Star Club batsmen failed to read the accurate bowling of Shadab Khan and were bundled out for 178 in 45.2 overs. Ashuthosh batted well to score 58 with eight boundaries. Shafiq-ul-Hassan and Suhail Hassan scored 30 and 25 runs. Shadab Khan bowled brilliantly to grab 4/37.
