Chaina Ram is justifiably famous as the pioneer of Karachi Halwa, the stretchable sweetmeat available in four forms. Relocated to Delhi in the bloody aftermath of Partition, the shop has brought with it a bit of history going back to the Anarkali Market of Lahore (the year was 1901). Today, it's best-known for its Sev Badam, Kaju Barfi, Pateesa and the mega-Laddoos, another of Chaina Ram's speciality. The shop also has a modest seating arrangement for those who wish to have a quick meal, and is the cheapest among the big names in the area.
