The award, instituted by the World Environment forum (WEF), is designed to encourage and recognise effective implementation of Environment Management Systems.

The former Prime Minister of Sweden, Olla Ullsten and Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh jointly presented the award to Vinod Mehtra, Vice President (Operations) of Chambal Fertilisers and Chemicals on Saturday at Palampur (Himachal Pradesh), a company release said on Monday.

The company, a part of the KK Birla Group, was awarded in the category of Large Industry (Fertilisers) for its Environment Management Systems.
