The Chand Mohammad-Fiza romance took an uglier turn on Monday, with Fiza, after failing to get any response from Chand to her ultimatums, lodged a complaint with the SAS Nagar (Mohali) Police.

Fiza brought charges of rape, defamation and cheating against former Haryana deputy chief minister Chander Mohan alias Chand Mohammad.
Chander Mohan married Anuradha Bali alias Fiza, Assistant Advocate General of Haryana, by converting to Islam in December 2008. After staying for nearly one-and-a-half months at Fiza’s house, Chand Mohammmed left her on January 28, 2009.
Responding to the complaint, SAS Nagar police chief Jatinder Singh Aulakh has ordered Superintendent of Police (City) Varinder Pal Singh to initiate an inquiry. Aulakh told Hindustan Times, “We will thoroughly probe the charges and once the report comes, action will be initiated.”
Asking the police for security, Fiza stated in her complaint that she apprehended a threat to her and her family members.
The complaint also said Chand played foul by hurting the religious sentiments of a particular community by converting for the purpose of marrying for the second time. She said it was apparent from his later act of desertion and denouncement of the marriage and re-conversion into Hinduism.
Fiza requested the SAS Nagar Police that actions be initiated as soon as possible, as she feared that Chand Mohammad and his family might try to run away to a foreign country to avoid legal actions.
