State-unit CPM on Thursday accused Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu of "having become panicky" and "of therefore 'cheating' people".
CPM state secretary BV Raghavulu told newsmen Naidu "had become panicky after the exit polls and was now cheating people with irresponsible statements and finding fault with opposition for his failures".
Charging Naidu with "failure to address the problems of farmers specially irrigational needs", Raghavulu blamed Naidu's TDP of "having ignored irrigations projects". Also his remarks that the state would be turned into a desert if the opposition took over "were highly exaggerated", Raghavulu said.
He said "only Rs 7,000 crore had been spent on projects against Naidu's claim of Rs 10,200 crore allocation" and added as regards borewells "farmers had put in their own efforts".
"TDP's claim that an additional 10 lakh acres was brought under cultivation was far from truth" he said and added "even today only two lakh hectares are under cultivation".
Raghavulu also accused Naidu of "double standards as he has supported separate statehood for Chhattisgarh, Uttaranchal and Jharkhand, but was refusing it for Telegana".
