The Crime Branch of Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday submitted a charge-sheet in a local court against five persons for allegedly providing fake qualification and caste certificates to people.

The complaint in this regard was registered by Romesh Chand of Samba district, a Crime Branch spokesman said.

The accused are Sat Paul, Pawan Kumar, Sohan Lal, Rash Paul and Ashok Kumar.

In the complaint, Romesh alleged that his son Rashpal came in contact with Satpal and Pawan Kumar in May this year who assured him that they will arrange a Class 8 certificate and a job for him. Romesh then paid Rs 8,000 to the accused for the job and certificates, he said.

After five months, the accused met Romesh and told him that it was very difficult to get job on the basis of a Class 8 certificate and suggested him to get matriculation, Schedule Caste and Permanent Residence certificates as well, he said.

Accordingly, Romesh paid another Rs 22,000 to Pawan Kumar for arranging the certificates.

After establishing the offences against the accused, the charge sheet was presented before the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, he said.
