More than 300 underprivileged students are being forced to study under the open sky in Ardee City.
This is because the Huda enforcement squad has demolished their charitable education centre being run by an elderly person of the same locality.
The demolition squad also removed some shops, which had illegally encroached upon Huda land in the community.
"Our NGO Guru Nanak Sewa Sansthan has been running the school in Ardee City from the past six years. We are providing education to underprivileged students. However, the current drive of Huda is a process to remove illegal encroachments from the city. There should be some concession for these children. Winters are already here and we don't have any alternative shelter for them. They have been forced to sit without a roof and have to continue their study without basic facilities," said JD Khurana, president of the NGO.
He further said they were not given any prior information before the demolition drive of the school.
"We are not against their drive but they should have given us prior notice. We have been using the land since 2006 after the people of Ardee City allowed us to educate children. It will be great if we got any alternative place for these children. However, we are determined to run our school under the sky and on the roads despite these hurdles," added Khurana.

{{/usCountry}}Meanwhile, local residents have shown concern for the children. "No doubt Huda is doing a good job, but the NGO is also providing free education to these children. They have provided them free books, writing material, dresses and mid-day meals. Huda should have given them some time and alternative place to run their school," said Ankur Sharma, a local resident.
Meanwhile, Huda administrator Praveen Kumar was unavailable for comments.
