Chhari Mubarak, the holy mace of Lord Shiva, will be carried to the cave shrine of Amarnath on July 25 through traditional Pahalgam route.

Announcing the programme for the yatra, Mahant Deependra Giri, custodian of holy mace of Lord Shiva, also known as 'Chhari-Mubarak', said after performing the rituals on July 25 at Pahalgam, the Chhari will return to its abode in Dashnami Akhara in Budshah Chowk in Srinagar, the same day.
After performing Chhari-Pujan at Dashnami Akhara here on 'Nag-Panchami' on August 14, Giri will carry the mace to the Amarnath shrine on Shravan-Purnima on August 24.
Mahadev Gir Dashnami Akhara Trust, Srinagar, has made all the arrangements for sadhus coming from across the country for the annual pilgrimage, he said.
Over 2.60 lakh pilgrims have paid obeisance at the 3,880 metre high Amarnath cave shrine in south Kashmir Himalayas till Tuesday.
