Villages in Thane district are facing an epidemic of chikungunya, a mosquito-borne disease.

Fifteen villagers from Kasara, Ningadwadi and Mokhawane tested positive for the disease and the authorities have decided to clean storage tanks to prevent mosquitoes from breeding.
