All the three institutes including Indian Institute of Technology (IIT-K), Harcourt Butler Technological Institute and the Chandra Shekhar Azad Agriculture Technology University (CSA) are surrounded by extensive greenery which provides an ideal place for the breeding of the dangerous mosquitoes.

Though most of the students in their hostel rooms have been using various types of mosquito repellents they feel that the institute authorities, in coordination with the Kanpur Municipal Corporation (KMC), should make regular arrangements for effective fogging in and around the campus especially during the changing weather conditions that is supposed to be highly congenial to mosquito breeding. Reports said that several students in the hostels were having regular complaints of body pain and headache accompanied with feverish syndrome during morning hours. In order to feel fresh they just take analgesic tablets instead of going to medical experts.
