No doubt about it, China is still No. 1 in men's gymnastics. Who was No. 2, that took a little longer.

The Chinese won their second straight Olympic title and third in four games on Monday, finishing with a score of 275.997 points and silencing critics who wrote them off after a dismal performance in qualifying.

Britain was initially announced as the silver medalist, setting off raucous celebrations. But Japan filed an inquiry over the score of three-time world champion Kohei Uchimura on the pommel horse, the team's last routine.

After judges spent about five minutes reviewing the routine, his score was revised and Japan was awarded the silver medal with Britain getting bumped down to bronze.
