Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan addressed public meetings at Nagda, Mahidpur and Jaora in favour of BJP candidates on Sunday, the last day of campaigning for the civil body elections in MP.

The second phase of elections will be conducted on December 2.

Urging voters to opt for BJP candidates, the chief minister said the electorate had chosen the BJP in the assembly and Lok Sabha elections and should now choose the BJP in urban bodies as well so that the party can ensure development.

The chief minister listed the works of both the BJP-led state and Central government, saying they were committed to improving the lives of all sections of society.

He outlined the party’s vision that the state government would construct five lakh houses for the poor in urban areas in the next five years and would also simplify taxation process in urban bodies.
