Accompanied by wife Sadhna, Chouhan after performing puja at Gopal Mandir along with the state's Industry Minister Kailash Vijaywargiya undertook the padyatra to please the rain gods.

Chouhan told reporters that after the weatherman lowered the prediction of monsoon to 93 per cent, the only option left with the people was to please God.

He said he prayed for good rains not only in Madhya Pradesh, but through out the country.

Chouhan also took part in a seven-day long 'Ati Maharudra Yagna' organised by the Mahakaleshwar Temple Committee for good rains.
