Conveying his greetings to the Christian brethren on the occasion of Christmas, the Archbishop of Goa and Daman in his message said that the festival and the feast would always stand for "an eminently spiritual reality" regardless of the commercial concerns.

"Whatever today's commercial concerns and the media may have made of Christmas, this feast will always stand for an eminently spiritual reality--celebrated by Christians all over the world-- God intervening in the history of humankind, being born in human family and blessing every member of human race with His love, peace and Joy," Filipe Nery Ferrao, Archbishop of Goa and Daman, has said.
In his Christmas message, the Archbishop said that it is our duty to work for the genuine promotion of the human person and for the transformation of our social, political, economic and cultural life, according to God’s plan.
"May this Christmas strengthen our resolve to work for the realisation of this dream that God has for his creation, a new world order, wherein people of all hues, colours and religious affiliations can join hands with one another and work in collaborative spirit to recreate the earth into a place where justice, peace, understanding and forgiveness will be the hallmark," he said.
The Archbishop wished everyone a joyful Christmas, full of divine blessings and peace that only God can give.
