: Atma Ram Gupta accompanied by Keshavpuram councillor Sharda Jain leaves for Congress rally at Ferozshah Kotla ground at 10:45 am.

August 25, 2002: Police register an FIR after Gupta's younger brother Rajendra Pal Gupta lodges a missing report with Keshavpuram police station at 1 am.

August 27, 2002: Jain and her elder brother Raj Kumar arrested and on interrogation discloses about their involvement in Gupta's murder.

August 28, 2002: Jain and her brother lead police to Chajjupur village in Ghaziabad district to point out the spot where Gupta was killed.

August 31, 2002: Gupta's body is recovered from a sub canal near Baral village in Bulandshahr district.

September 6, 2002: Police recover an I-card of Gupta from an alleged hired shooter and co-accused Pushpender with his arrest from village Bharatpur in Aligarh district.

September 17, 2002: Another hired shooter Nirvikar is arrested from District Jail, Aligarh.

September 19, 2002: Police recover an ISCKON ID card of Gupta from a place identified by accused Nirvikar.

September 30, 2002: A co-accused Rajinder is arrested from a bus stand near a JJ Colony in New Delhi.

December 21, 2006: Former Delhi Councillor Sharada Jain convicted for murdering Atma Ram Gupta in Delhi.
