The initiative was flagged off last week on January 27 and has received superb response from Citi-zens. Chris of Citibank, present at the venue, beams, “We have given roughly 417 freebies and 30 free meals so far. The crowd is really impressed with what’s on offer.” The merchants second his opinion, expressing their happiness at the event’s success so far. The biggest hits by far with the guests are meals at Spaghetti, Copper Chimney, Noodle Bar and Bombay Blue since their discounts on overall bills range between 15 and 20 per cent. Chris adds, “Their visibility and location has helped them a lot. The gifts for Citibank cardholders given by these merchants were terrific. The free meals served too were pretty commendable.” Recently, a guest won a free meal worth R 3000, the biggest sum yet at the Yummfest.
