Denizens UNDER the banner of ‘Yuddh-Apradhi George Bush Virodhi Abhiyan’ (YAGBVA) held another anti-Bush and anti-imperialism rally, here on Monday, at Peepal Chauraha in Daryabad.
Chief guest and national convener of Azadi Bachao Andolan, Dr Banwari Lal Sharma said an anti-Bush fever was spreading across the country. People thought Bush was a ‘murderer of innocent citizens of Afghanistan and Iraq’.
He alleged the United States was gradually eating into India’s education, media, research and development, industries, banking, insurance, telecommunications, oil, energy, mining, public undertakings and other sectors. Sharma appealed to the masses to oppose this 21st Century imperialism.
He termed Bush as a ‘war culprit’.
Former prof of Allahabad University’s English Department, Om Prakash Malaviya presided over the meeting while president, Anjumane Muhafize Aza, Syed Asadar Husain conducted it.
Husain said Indian citizens in general and Muslims in particular were hurt by America’s policies. They alleged the country was spreading communalism and separatism across the world.
The recent attack on religious shrines in Iraq was a handiwork of the US-Britain and Israel axis.
Husain expressed hope that on March 1, when Bush came to India, about a lakh black balloons would cover the sky in all the 10 tehsils and 28 blocks of Allahabad and Kaushambi districts.
Malaviya said the US was a ‘lover of war’. He said this could be opposed through India’s united public opinion. He criticised the policy of the UPA Government regarding Iran’s nuclear issue. He said Iran had been India’s friend.

More than 2,00 leaflets were distributed appealing to the masses to maintain communal harmony. Unity between Hindu-Muslim and Shia-Sunni was necessary for India’s speedy development.
In the meeting several organisations put up banners and placards demanding the death of the Denmark cartoonist.
The demonstrators also burnt effigies of President Bush and Danish Prime Minister.
It was also resolved to inform the United Nations about passing a resolution on no one could destroy religious shrines and malign the founder of any religion. It was also demanded that the government send back the Danish ambassador.
