Hyderabad City Commissioner of Police B Prasada Rao told reporters this evening, that 50 platoons of Armed Police, few companies of Rapid Action Force and 200 civil police apart from the local force have been deployed across the city to prevent any untoward incidents.

"In view of 48-hour bandh called by TRS from the midnight and to thwart attempts by some groups to disturb communal peace and harmony in connection with the anniversary of Babri structure demolition, prohibitory orders were clamped in twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad," he said.

"Precautions are in place to maintain law and order and security forces have been deployed in sensitive areas. Like we mobilised force from other districts during the Ganesh festival, we are doing the same now," Prasada Rao, said in reply to a question.

"The situation is totally under control now," the police chief said adding that they were taking every measure to ensure peace in the state capital.
