At least 15 people from both the sides were injured in the clashes.
Since morning, the Save-Nano Committee activists and CPI-M supporters had assembled on the Durgapur expressway and smashed vehicles to stop Mamata’s entry to Singur.
In the evening, many Trinamool supporters encircled the Save-Nano Committee and CPI-M supporters and beat them up.
Addressing the rally at Singur after the incident, Mamata demanded President’s Rule in the state.
