The accused, a student of Class 6, was rounded up by police within an hour of receiving the missing complaint.

The minor accused has been sent to Bostel jail, Hisar, on a two-week judicial custody. During investigation, the accused told police that he saw a Bollywood movie recently in which a kidnapper had demanded Rs 5-lakh ransom from a schoolboy's parents.

He said he, too, wanted to earn easy money and fulfill his desires of shopping things of his choice, so committed the crime.

The accused allegedly went to the victim's playschool at 11am on Friday and introduced himself as his neighbour. Unaware of his evil plans, the school's teachers let the victim go with him.

Thereafter, the accused allegedly took him to the grain market and made him sit on a high wall, warning him not to jump as it would hurt him. Then he allegedly called the victim's father, an accountant at a private finance company, and demanded Rs 3 lakh for returning his child safely.

Sources said the police have also recovered five SIM cards from the possession of the accused.
The DSP said: "The accused was produced before the juvenile justice board and has been sent to Bostel jail, Hisar, after registering a case under Section 164 (abduction) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC)."
