Addressing people at the centenary celebrations of Yatim Khana here on Sunday, the Chief Minister said that in case the Samajwadi Party became weak in the State, reactionary forces in the garb of BJP and the Congress would capture power and would push the State into the most horrid state of affairs.

Launching a scathing attack on the BJP and the Congress, he said both parties were airing rumours that he was ill and would be unable to remain in the political fray for a long time. They also spread false news that he would quit the post of chief minister and would hand over charge to someone else, he said.

He said at present the Congress was at the fifth spot in the State and acquiring political power in UP would prove be like chasing a mirage for the party. About the Samajwadi Party he said, it was for the Muslim supporters to decide if they wanted a weak Samajwadi party in the State. He warned party workers against pursuing “contract politics” and “cosy room Politics” as this would not help to muster support.

Referring to the ban imposed upon Iran against procuring and keeping nuclear weapons, the Chief Minister said it was not justified as no such restrictions were imposed upon USA in this connection. The concept of natural justice did not support such restrictions on Iran he said.

He further said that the image of the country at the international level was badly tarnished due to weak policies of the Congress government. The country has lost its best supporters in the world he added.

He said that the Congress has committed partiality in depriving Jaya Bachhan of her Rajya Sabha membership, while defended Sonia Gandhi who has been enjoying several posts of profits for the past several years. He said that present price rise was due to wrong economic policies of the Union Government. He said it was the duty of the Congress-led government at the Center to put a curb on the black-marketing practices.

On the occasion, Chief Minister dedicated a girls hostel constructed at the yatim khana (Muslim Orphanage) and announced financial assistance of Rs 25 lakh for improving facilities here.
